AUSTIN, TX — On March 12, 2026, the City of Austin will formally recognize the legendary hip-hop collective FloMob for their three decades of influence on the city's cultural and musical landscape. During a special ceremony at City Hall, the City of Austin will issue an official proclamation declaring the day "FloMob Day" in Austin.
Founded in the early 1990s, Flo Mob, led by veteran artist Big Ced, served as one of the pillars of the Austin hip-hop scene. The proclamation honors the group’s "rhythm, resistance, and roots," specifically noting their contributions to representing neighborhood spirit and helping to building the city’s hip-hop infrastructure.
FloMob has always represented for Austin and this deserved acknowledgement coincides with their current anthem "For My City" which is an ode to ATX and the city's loyalty to the genre.
